Why Defiant Phoenix?
A spirit of Resilient Defiance
The name Defiant Phoenix is informed by my life. I was born deaf and physically disabled. Doctors didn't expect much of me, but I worked hard to overcome my limitations. At 21, I graduated college and moved to a new country, funded by the beginnings of my freelance writing business.
Rise
Taking Flight with Initial Success
I worked on Elance, oDesk, Upwork, and Fiverr, enjoying success on all of them before Fiverr really took off for me, around 2015. For the next six years, I was constantly busy as I made Top Rated Seller and became one of the freelance platform's first Pro-Verified sellers in 2017
Fall
And then, Pandemic Pandemonium
In the winter of 2020, at the height of the coronavirus pandemic, I got sick. It took two years, many hospitalizations, and a brush with death before I was finally diagnosed with Crohn's. I'm still in recovery. In November 2023, I was diagnosed with another autoimmune disease, Hashimoto's.
Rebirth
The Phoenix Rises Again
It is a long road to full health, but now I'm ready to tackle Fiverr again. But this time, I'm taking another new path: building my own sustainable business away from Fiverr. I can make this happen two ways: by helping you to achieve your own goals on Fiverr, as well as through consulting and writing services for businesses via this website.

I don't tell you my story to be inspirational (and I have no desire to capitalize on my "name" on Fiverr). Instead, I want to show you that with the right information and the right mindset, you can achieve your goals on Fiverr or in your wider business. I'm not saying it will be easy.
