Fiverr is being tight-lipped about exactly what its new Freelancers Trainerr Program is. This post includes everything known about the new feature moving into February 2024.
What is the Fiverr Freelancer Trainerr Program?
Throughout January, Fiverr has been sending out emails to sellers it has earmarked as being potential fits for its mysterious Freelancer Trainerr Program.
Very few details have come out about the program as people try find out exactly what is involved. The invitation does not mean that sellers are in the program. They will still need to fill out a form (pictured below) to be considered:

The Trainerr program at Fiverr connects experienced and successful freelancers with newcomers, showing the potential to thrive on Fiverr, in order to offer them knowledge and guidance. You were identified as a potential Trainer in the upcoming cycle because of your demonstrated expertise.
So what’s next? If you’re interested in participating in the Trainerr program, please fill out this form so we can learn more about you and get a better understanding regarding your suitability for this program.
Please note that this program is screening based, and Trainers will be selected based on Fiverr’s sole discretion.
It’s important to emphasize that all relevant applicants will receive a detailed email with the exact requirements and procedures, in a later stage of the screening process, and will be able to opt out at any time

Freelance Trainerr Program: A New Gig Category?
Sellers who looked more closely at Fiverr’s categories while creating a gig may also have noticed a new, grayed out sub-category in business: the Freelancers Trainerr Program.
Fiverr has always had its share of sellers with gigs offering to mentor other sellers to success. These gigs typically cover things like improving gig descriptions and 1-on-1 consultations. It seems like Fiverr has finally decided to create an official sub-category for this trade. At the same time, it is also choosing who it will allow to sell such gigs.
It is not known what will happen to the gigs offering these services today will be allowed to continue if Freelancer Trainerr Program goes live. My money’s on probably not.
Sellers on r/Fiverr talking about the Freelancer Trainerr Program have come to a similar conclusion:
- Help new sellers to improve
- 1-on-1 calls will be used
- Trainers can charge an hourly rate
It also seems unclear who will pay: Fiverr, or the seller seeking mentorship. Due to the need to create gigs and pass vetting after being invited to the program, I believe it is more likely that people seeking mentorship will pay.
Consulting Services Are Also Being Introduced
Fiverr is off to a busy start in 2024. Not content with adding mentorship gigs to its seller catalog, it is also introducing a new group of sub-categories in multiple categories. This time, the focus is on consulting gigs.
It appears that these consultation gigs is limited to Seller Plus for now, and comes with an attractive promise of increased exposure for sellers who are among the first to create a gig.
Will You Join Freelancers Trainerr Program?
Opinion seems split on whether this program is a good idea, with many sellers unsure of what the program will do for them. Others are worried about whether new sellers will even pay for the service. While a healthy, pre-existing economy for mentoship gigs indicates these worries are unfounded, there is certainly room for speculation as to what exactly Fiverr is doing.
All that anyone can say for sure is that Fiverr is taking control of the seller mentorship gig economy. Whether that turns out to be a good thing or a bad thing remains to be seen, especially in light of revelations that Fiverr is planning to launch a new review and levels system in the very near future.
UPDATE: Fiverr also announced details of its new levels and ratings system the day after this article was published. The company is swinging into 2024 with changes everywhere!
