Is Quora a good place to promote Fiverr gigs and build a reputation as an expert in your domain? Absolutely, but there are a few things that you should be aware of before you start. Let’s go through them.
Quora is a question-and-answer platform that acts as the internet’s FAQ board. Quorans post questions about topics and get answers from other people who are experts in that topic.
Quora also ranks well on Google, making it a great place for to demonstrate your expertise and thought leadership in your industry and niche while quietly directing people to your Fiverr gig.
Like Pinterest and Medium, Quora is a long-term strategy. It takes a little time to build up a presence there, but once you start answering questions, you can rank in Google and get noticed by potential Fiverr buyers months and years later.
In this article, I show you a strategy you can start today. It’s a simple strategy that takes a couple of hours to set up – after that, you just need to maintain your profile. It’s very low maintenance and delivers some great results!
Golden Rules for Promoting Fiverr Gigs on Quora
Quora is about quality, not quantity. It’s better to spend a long time on one answer than a short time on many answers. Some quick tips to remember as you write:
- Focus on providing factually correct, value-loaded answers
- Format your answers for readability and skimming
- Include a unique fact, anecdote, success, or failure
- Jump on new questions fast for better visibility
The good thing about Quora is that answers will be useful for years after they expire, making them evergreen content that promotes you long after you click post. Your expertise is what will sell and market you – so make promotions discreet and secondary to the purpose of promotion.
Follower Influencers In Your Topics

If you’re new to Quora, it can be confusing at first. The best way to get started is to find the top writers in your topic areas. You can do this by visiting a topic then clicking on “most viewed writers”, as shown in the image above.
When you find influencers, follow them. You’ll get an idea of what topics they answer, how they write answers, and what works in your chosen topic. You can also look to see how the community engages. If you spot any information gaps, fill them in with your own knowledge.
Optimize Your Quora Profile for Your Fiverr Niche
Our starting point is the same as with any other social media platform: create a branded, SEO-optimized profile that highlights who you are, what you do, and why you’re an expert.
You should use your real name on Quora, but that policy has been relaxed lately. So long as your name isn’t spammy or offensive, it should be fine.
More important than your name is your profile headline. You could put something like:
[Job] at [Company], a [what you do]
This could become:
Writer at WriteWizard, an SEO marketing agency for SaaS Companies
This is made-up, but it instantly tells you a few things. This person is an SEO writer who writes tech-related SEO content for marketing. Whenever you answer a question, people will see your headline, so it’s a great place to advertise who you are, what you do, and how you help people without being spammy!
Further down in your profile, you can optimize your bio. This is where you can add a URL to your website (or your Fiverr gig if you prefer)
Your credentials and highlights are less important, but a good way to highight any information that’s relevant to the people you want to attract. This could be certifications, experience, or something else.
Knows About is similar, except you just tag topics that you, well, know about.
Once you’ve done that, focus on optimizing your credentials, topics, and profile page. Take some time to do this, as your profile page is where people will go if they found your answer useful.
You can add more details to your Quora profile page, which is the home of your bio. Some quick tips:
- Use keywords that match your topic and services
- Add topics to your knows about area and describe your experience
- Add an attractive professional headshot (or your logo) as your profile image
The more you fill out your profile, the better.
Take Advantage of Quora Ads (For Free!)
Similar to Pinterest, Quora Ads gives you a peak into what performs well on the platform. You’ll need to create a Quora ad account to take advantage of this (you don’t need to pay unless you create an ad).
This takes about 5 minutes, but it gives you access to Question Targeting. This feature lets you use keywords to find relevant questions. The cool part is that you’ll also get to see weekly views, which show you how many people are looking at a question.
That’s super-useful, because you can use this information to decide whether answering a question is worth your time or not. Would you rather spend time answering a question that gets 10,000 views a month – or one that gets 10 views a month?
Follow Relevant Topics and Users
Quora shows you what you’re interested in – or, in this case, what your ideal buyer is interested in. So long as you’ve carried out your market research and know who your audience is, this is simple to set up.
Use the search bar at the top of Quora to find relevant topics (use keywords!) and follow them. Quora will give you suggestions and even show you users in the space. Make sure you follow topics and users who are relevant to the space you want to promote in.
This step does three useful things, helping you to
- Optimize your Quora timeline to only see things you want to see
- Give you an overview of common and popular questions
- Find the leading experts in your area and learn what works from them
Now that your account and Quora experience is set up, you’re ready to promote your Fiverr gig!
Don’t Forget to Ask Questions!
Even experts need help sometimes! Asking questions is an easy way to get some visibility in your community, and they’re also a very useful way to get new ideas and learn about other people’s experience in your area.
If you are a social media marketer on Quora, a good question might be to ask about a recent algorithm change on Instagram and how other marketers are adapting. These kind of questions can be useful to everyone else and spark an interesting discussion.
Quora is also a great place for market research for new gigs. Next time you have a gig idea, ask questions about part of your service in the relevant topic to see if there is any audience interest.
Questions may not be an obvious way to demonstrate expertise on Quora, but done right, they can help to build your presence in the community as a thought leader who engages in debate. In turn, that will build trust in you and your services.
How to Find and Answer Questions on Quora
You have one job on Quora – to establish yourself as a helpful expert in your area and then use that recognition to funnel traffic through to your website and Fiverr gig. However, not all questions are built equal.
The best questions to answer are “how” questions, because these allow you to show off your expertise.
You don’t want to waste time on questions that don’t serve you, which will be most of the questions you see. Instead, decide what keyword you want to answer today. For example, you might be a writer and your question keyword might “writer’s block”.
You might scroll down the list and see the question “how do I overcome writer’s block?”
This is a great question to answer, as you can write an answer sharing your tips for overcoming this issue and subtly push “hire me to write for you instead” as a service. Try to think of keywords that will help you to do the same in your industry or niche.
When you’ve found good questions, check the date – you don’t want to answer ancient questions! Ideally, the questions should be no older than a week. The earlier you answer a question, the more likely you are to claim the visibility of being the first answer.
How to Write a Good Answer on Quora
The information is the most important thing: always provide value. If you don’t know the answer, skip the question. People are looking for genuine, helpful answers. If you can’t deliver these, then you won’t help your business.
Beyond that, make sure that your post is edited, easy to read, and formatted to look attractive. Make use of formatting, add hyperlinks, and use pictures to break up text.
Hyperlinks should be used primarily to support your claims and provide more information on a topic. One way to do this is to write blog posts that answer questions fully. When a question comes around, write a shorter answer and link to your blog post for more information. You can then use your gig link in your article.
If you’re a writer, or enjoy writing, add elements of storytelling to your answer.
An anecdote can turn a boring answer into an interesting one – just make sure it fits the question. Someone asking a facts-based question won’t be as interested in a story as someone who is looking for experience-based answers.
You can use AI writing if you want to, but I don’t recommend it. Quora is flooded with AI content and most people are tired of seeing it. You’ll make a better impression with your own writing, even if your English isn’t perfect.
Should Use AI to Promote Your Fiverr Gig More Effectively?
As AI becomes more and more common, people are starting to enjoy just reading what other people say. We can all get an answer from ChatGPT – that doesn’t mean we want to see other people’s ChatGPT answers!
However, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take advantage of AI – you just need to do it the right way. Quora has a lot of unedited copy-paste answers straight from ChatGPT. Don’t do that – people notice.
If you use AI writing to promote your gig on Quora, then take care to edit your answers first and add your own touch. ChatGPT might know a little bit about everything, but you know a lot about a little. Your added knowledge makes a huge difference to the quality of your answer and perceived expertise.
Use a Dedicated Tool Like QAPop to Answer Questions
QAPop is a useful little tool that will search Quora for questions that you can answer and then answer them for you. Yes, I’ve just told you not to use AI and now I’m telling you about a tool that can help!
This tool will save you time looking for questions, since it can find them based on your keywords. It also doesn’t hurt that it gives you a ready-made reply. This can be a huge time-saver, especially if you’re not a good writer. I’m recommending this simply because when I tested QAPop, the answers looked more human than ChatGPT – but only in some niches.
There’s nothing wrong with AI content, so long as you take care to edit it so that it is correct and feels like a human wrote it. Think of AI as a productivity tool that helps you overcome your limitations, not a magic does-it-all tool.
Quora Is Best for Problem-Solving Promotional Strategies
The key to succeeding with promoting your Fiverr gig on Quora is to position yourself as a helpful and trustworthy expert. Over time, you will build your reputation on the platform by providing genuine value and avoiding spammy tactics.
Quora isn’t for everyone, but it can still be an effective promotional network if you take time to set up a good profile and answer targeted questions frequently. By focusing on core keywords and providing useful content, you can build your authority as an expert in your niche.
I would use Quora as a secondary or even tertiary social media channel, somewhere to back up my professional online presence with detailed and helpful answers that populate search results when people look up my name (or brand).
Believe it or not, some buyers do carry out due diligence and investigate Fiverr sellers closely before buying! If you build up a big presence on Quora then you can help push potential Fiverr buyers toward choosing you over another seller who has done no social media marketing.
Quora is a great platform to support all of your other work, by showing off your helpfulness and expertise, and QApop can make a quick job of what might otherwise be a lot of research and writing.
